ASSOCIATE PRODUCT MANAGER
Location: Portland, OR

Under general supervision of the Product Manager, the Associate Product Manager contributes to Ann Sacks success by supporting the creation and implementation of short and long-term marketing and strategic plans and programs for all product lines within the Ann Sacks portfolio. The Associate Product Manager will ensure business objectives are met in a manner that is brand accretive and fosters innovation across all product lines and channels, ultimately measured through achievement of sales volume and margin plans on all categories.
Other competencies associated with the primary function of the Associate Product Manager are:
· Sees the big picture to drive end results
· Acts as a champion in carrying out and communicating Merchandising’s strategies and goals throughout the business
· Works closely with the Product Development and Marketing teams to develop holistic product development and launch plans
· Works closely with the Supply Chain team to manage products throughout their entire life cycle
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Has product knowledge across all product lines, serving as a subject matter expert to support the product information needs of the business. Create and implement tools from strategies to transfer product knowledge across internal and external partnerships. Provide subject matter expertise to ensure training, website and other brand tools are informative, inspirational and relevant across sales channels. Assist in the development and implementation of product training programs.
Has a comprehensive understanding of the competitive landscape and of consumer lifestyle trends, needs and wants.
Support development of annual plans for new product launches, bringing to bear in the creation of product strategy expert level understanding of customer needs and perceptions, market and trend analysis, pricing strategy, promotion and advertising activity and sales and profit forecasts.
Support development of all unit and dollar volume forecasts, project market penetration and recommend sales policies, budget estimates and projected return on investment for all products.
Support development of a pricing strategy that contributes to overall profitability through market based pricing that contributes toward agreed-upon product margin targets. Drive pricing strategy review through creation and approval of annual pricing proposal.
Partner with the Product Manager on the go to market process. Provide comprehensive business strategy, sound project scope definitions and market analysis in all phases of product development. Ensure new product launches are delivered in full, on time, through effective project management and communication.
Recommend projects to support the New Product Development schedule designed to drive continued sales growth and profitability for the Ann Sacks business. Collaborate with Product Development to ensure new products deliver against identified customer and market needs, addressing category or assortment gaps, while ensuring the brand’s continued market position as a leader in innovation.
Demonstrate analytic thinking, ability to leverage insights into actionable lifestyle brand strategies, programs and implementation tools and apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional activities.
Successfully manage projects and special assignments ensuring timelines, budgets and business objectives are met.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
3 – 5 years of experience in product, brand or category management, preferably in a retail environment.
E-commerce experience highly preferred.
Prior experience with project management, owning a P&L and managing budgets, and analytics are required.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required; Adobe suite and project management collaboration tools experience preferred.
